Appearance design

The NOLO is a budget friendly and advanced VR motion tracking system that consists of three parts including base station, headset marker and two wireless controllers. The base station measures 78 x 44.5 x 76.15mm, weighs 160g. The headset marker measures 138.8 x 44.8mm, weighs 60g, and the controller measures 151.3 x 40 x 43.3mm and weighs 90g. As we can see from the images, all the parts sports a portable and sleek design, and the controllers feature smooth and ergonomic contours for a comfortable grip.

Compatibility and features

The VR motion tracking system doesn’t come with a dedicatedly designed VR headset, but using its headset marker, the VR system works with various mobile headsets like Google Daydream, Samsung Gear VR and more. In mobile VR mode, NOLO supports both iOS and Android handsets, but at present it only supports streaming SteamVR games to your Android smartphone. The iOS support will be released before the end of 2017.

The headset marker is designed to place on the top of your VR headset. Using its less than 20ms positioning delay and 6DoF motion tracking, your movements can be synced to the visual world in real time for a comfortable VR experience.

The compact base station faces towards you and has the ability to track your movements within a 13 x 13m space with a tracking accuracy of less than 2mm. Meanwhile, using two handheld controllers, you can fully immerse in virtual reality world and interact with those virtual objects.

Price and shipment date

The crowdfunding campaign for NOLO is in progress on Kickstarter. You can pledge $99 to preorder the VR motion tracking kit. The kit will be shipped in May 2017.
